David leads as VP Marketplace the country operation of Mercado Libre Mexico, the largest e-commerce and fintech company in Latin America and Mexico.
Besides his role at Mercado Libre, David is a serial entrepreneur and angel investor in various tech companies in Europe, Latin America and the US. With his ample experience in e-commerce and scalingup businesses, he also serves as advisor and mentor to many entrepreneurs both nationally and internationally. David co-founded and led the Mexican E-Commerce Chamber (AMVO) and initiated the largest Mexican annual online sales event: Hot Sale. Currently, he is actively involved as a member of the association’s supervisory board, representing the interests of 400+ e-tailers in Mexico. Before initiating AMVO, David co-founded and was the CEO of two Mexican e-commerce Startups, clickOnero and Dafiti. David started his career at Goldman Sachs’ investment banking division in London. Prior to joining Mercado Libre, he developed the omnichannel strategy for Europe’s largest consumer electronics retailer, Media Markt, for the Iberian market (Spain & Portugal). David invests as Limited Partner in VC funds in the US, Europe and Mexico. He also participates as an investment committee member at two venture capital funds: Latin Leap and Angel Ventures Pacific Alliance Fund II.
