Maija Itkonen studied strategic and industrial design in the Aalto University School of Art and Design and specialized in International Design Business Management at the Helsinki School of Economics. To keep herself busy, Maijaalso graduated in classical music after studying in Sibelius-Academy and Gotherburg University.After her studies, Maijaparticipated founding the Aalto University’s famous Design Factory and carried design management jobs in Finland and Holland. The entrepreneurial burning and her desire for better user experiences led her to found her own wireless charging company PowerKiss in late 2008. Maijacarried duties of CEO and CMO in the company. After 4 years, PowerKiss joined forces with its biggest competitor, and got acquired by the Israel-American Powermat Inc.Maija is currently busy taking care of VP of Design and Brand role and activities at Powermat – and continues dreaming about the wireless world.She is married to writer Juha Itkonen. The couple lives in Arabianranta with their two beautiful, curious and apparently very entrepreneurial sons.

ArcticStartup — ArcticStartup is helping to build communities with uncapped opportunities through media, events, PR and consulting since 2007.Launched in 2007 by Antti Vilpponen and Miikka Kukkosuo as founding writers and getting out two-three articles a week, ArcticStartup quickly started gaining traction. In 2008 Ville Vesterinen and Karri Saarinen joinedthe founding team and ArcticStartup launched its own that were at first held in a small bar of Dubrovnik in Helsinki.
