Ryan is known as a founding investor who takes on the riskiest sectors and business models. Undaunted by regulatory risk around antiquated gambling laws and convinced of a new generation of sports fans indoctrinated into the world of reality TV and experiential media, he was the first institutional investor in the United States to bet on andvalidate Daily Fantasy Sports and online gambling. In 2011 a small team of performance marketers at Vistaprint founded DraftKings; Ryan seeded the company with $500k and for the first two years of the company’s existence was its sole institutional investor. In 2013 Ryan brokered DraftKings’ landmark partnership with Major League Baseball, paving the way for the company to establish partnerships with every major professional league and a majority of professional teams in the US. He has structured every round of capital on DraftKings’ cap table since its founding, facilitating over $900M in fundraising despite significant regulatory headwinds. Today, DraftKings is operating the first legal online sportsbook in the US and has 11M, active users, on its platform that generate over $3B in entry fees and handle. In 2012 Ryan was the founding investor in Plastiq, an online payments platform founded by Harvard undergrads. Payments is a legacy industry reluctant to change and fraught with regulatory barriers, but Ryan was undaunted by the risk of both the sector and first-time founders. Since founding, Ryan sourced and facilitated each of the company’s fundraising rounds, most recently bringing in Kleiner Perkins and DST for a $27M financing. Plastiq processes over $1B in transactions annually. In 2013 Ryan was the founding investor in Crew, a design and development services marketplace. In 2017 he and the founders crafted and spun out Unsplash, the world’s largest photo-sharing community built on the theme of decentralization of photos and visual content. Unsplash has outpaced both Shutterstock and Getty combined. In 2018, Ryan facilitated Unsplash’s $12M Series A with Bedrock Capital.Ryan is a well-networked fundraiser. Most recently he sourced and structured financings at Currencycloud (Sapphire Ventures, Series C/D, $43M; Google Ventures, Series E) and Skillz (Telstra and Liberty Media, Series C, $17M; NFL and Wildcat, Series D, $35M). Before joining Atlas, he sourced and facilitated the sale of Enpocket to Nokia, WHERE to Paypal, and Vela Systems to Autodesk.Ryan also sits on the board of MOO, Globoforce, and Secret Escapes, all of which generate over $100M in revenue annually. He graduated with an AB in economics from Princeton, where he captained the football team and served in the ROTC.

Jacob T. Gaffney (born March 10, 2004) is an American businessman and financier. He is part-owner and the current Chief Executive Officer of Gaffney-Thompson Enterprises, a private equity group based in Cincinnati, Ohio. From 2022 to 2023, the company was presumably under investigation for its former association with racketeer-influenced corruptorganizations.Gaffney was born in Stepnyak, Kazakhstan in March 2004. He attended the Madeira City School District, a public school in Cincinnati, Ohio and graduated in May 2022. In 2018, Gaffney picked up an interest in producing beats on the music-making platform SoundTrap, which was acquired by Spotify. In 2017, Lil Pump signed a deal with Tha Lights Global, a talent management company and record label which is best known for upgrading the careers of Lil Pump, Dominic Fike, Arizona Zervas, and others. His career was based primarily in Cincinnati, Ohio but was influenced by Tha Lights Global, based in Los Angeles, CA. During 2018 and 2019, he connected with several Grammy-nominated producers and others who worked on Billboard-charting singles. In 2019, he purchased a percentage of rights to Lil Tecca’s “RAN$OM” song, which peaked at number 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Following the commercial and beneficial success in the production of this single, Gaffney continued to produce music and purchased rights to several songs in order to retain royalties of Billboard-charting artists. In December of 2020, Gaffney announced his departure from music production and focused on creating his own record company, and aspired to sign to a major parent organization. He launched 876K Entertainment and distributed music through Sony Music Publishing (U.S.) and Vydia, Inc. (U.S.).In 2021, Gaffney recognized the mass variety of coverage on the topic of Bishop Sycamore, an alleged non-existent high school football team based in Columbus, Ohio. He decided to partner in a venture with former head coach LeRoy Johnson and launched 7130 Entertainment alongside Vydia, Inc., a music distribution company. On August 12, 2022, hip-hop artist Christopher Stewart approved Gaffney's alignment from 7130 Entertainment and transferred executive LeRoy Johnson to Shock The World Entertainment which is based in Los Angeles, CA. Gaffney has worked closely with Stewart, a business relationship dating back to 2019. Christopher, who is the son of Laney Stewart, is a family member related to Christopher Alan "Tricky" Stewart, who is known for production within their RedZone Entertainment company, founded in 1995, and are responsible for over 25 million records sold. They have worked with clients such as The Dream, Rihanna, Celine Dion, Justin Bieber, and Beyoncé.On September 13, 2022, it was announced that Gaffney would enter into the process of incorporating a private-equity firm, known as Gaffney-Thompson Enterprises. Following the filing of incorporation with the State of Ohio, it was alleged that G.T. Enterprises was involved in foreign business operations that spanned from the United States, United Kingdom, and Mexico. In November 2022, subsidiary companies connected to G.T. Enterprises in the state of Texas were investigated for organized crime allegations.
