I have 30+ years as a founder, operator, investor, board member and advisor. I have founded/co-founded multiple companies and have dealt with cofounder issues directly. I have invested in individual companies that have achieved $2b in revenue, $1b in profit, $30b in valuation. Plus on the other side of the spectrum, I have seen lots ofdifferent poor behaviour by some investors, founders and lawyers. My value add is: - the ability to quickly filter out the wrong people. - fundraising - strategy - focus - making tough decisions - cashflow planningCurrently investing directly in startups (mainly tech) at all stages and in funds (most asset classes) as an LP globally. I invested early in Supercell (majority acquired by Tencent), Unity Software (NYSE:U), Radiant Entertainment (acquired by Riot Games), Boomlagoon (acquired by Wargaming), Peak (acquired by Hachette Livre), Gameclub (acquired by Take-Two Interactive), Doppio Games (acquired by Fortis). Previously, I cofounded a seed VC firm & was an investment banker at various firms. I have both a HBA & MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business at University of Western Ontario in Canada. If you message me with a pitch deck link for your company or fund then do not send me a docsend link or anything requesting an email and or password as I will ignore it. And make sure you detail the team background, why it’s the best team and why you will win.I’m also open to board positions for companies in Europe and North America. - Validic — Uncover healthcare trends and personalized care advancements. Learn how technology transforms patient outcomes and manages chronic conditions effectively.
- Insight Optics — Insight Optics, is an impact driven startup dedicated to connecting Primary Care Providers with local specialists for assisted diagnostics. We do the heavy lifting with machine learning and computer vision to ensure untrained individuals have captured the right content and that it is of a diagnosable quality prior to transmission. We have built oursolution to ensure that we can capture non-adherent patients where they already are by deskilling the process and improving accessibility for the most rural, impoverished, and marginalized populations.Business Overview: Insight Optics empowers primary care providers (PCPs) to record and refer preventative pre-screening videos to local specialists for assisted diagnostics. Our goal is to enable PCPs to efficiently detect early signs of preventable diseases before permanent damage is done. We accomplish this by providing PCPs a platform to connect and send patient data to local specialists. This allows both users to monetize otherwise unrealized referral incentives and provide better care.Problem: Over 154 million patients in the United States are recommended for an annual retinal exam, especially those with a history of diabetes or high blood pressure. Unfortunately, less than 50% of this population will receive their screening due to the difficulty of visiting a specialist, lack of education or available specialists. However, most of these patients do see PCPs annually. Solution: We’ve developed a telemedicine PaaS, enabling PCPs to record and refer retinal exams to local specialists for assisted review. PCPs create a new revenue stream through reimbursements and government incentives. Specialists find qualified leads and increase their screening capacity without the need for in-person appointments in a non-adherent population.Benefits: The OptoView system acts as a new revenue stream for both PCPs and specialists through reimbursement. The tool satisfies HEDIS requirements for PCPs and acts as a lead generation tool for specialists to find new patients. Annual reports determine whether managed care organizations receive reimbursements or penalties from state and federal agencies. Our application is designed to satisfy the requirements for annual diabetic eye screenings, increasing an organization’s compliance rates and ophthalmologists prioritize sick patients.

- Goin — Goin is a mobile application to save money easily and take advantage of it without knowing how to invest, through Machine Learning algorithms that allow you to accumulate the user's money through small daily gestures. he three Spanish founders, David, Carlos and Gabriel, were looking for a way to optimize their own money, and decided toconduct an experiment by exchanging their debit cards and thus saving 62% during those two months of rehearsal. This is how Goin emerged, which aims to meet the needs of 100% of Millennials, of which 83% confess that they do not know how to save, making available an easy-to-use tool that enhances their finances and lifestyle. On the one hand, the Barcelona startup allows the user to add money automatically and multiply it without having previous knowledge of investment. Goin uses a simple system that first asks to know the user through questions about their habits and, in this way, they are offered automatic systems and methods of saving. Once the user adds money to the app, they can transfer part or all of it to investment, or to their bank account. Its Smart Saving technology manages to accumulate money with small, everyday gestures, such as rounding a payment.
