- KOI Ventures — KOI is a holding group that aspires to foster a thriving network of visionary entrepreneurs with a focus on catalyzing business growth through acceleration and strategic impact investments.
Rushi Manche is a young entrepreneur who co-founded a blockchain technology company built on the concept of modular blockchains. His vision was to develop a system providing high performance and ease of use while supporting seamless interaction between digital assets. In his early twenties, he boldly decided to leave Vanderbilt University and stepaway from an internship to pursue this venture. Along with his co-founder, he secured $3.4 million in pre-seed funding from more than 25 angel investors and gradually assembled a team of over 70 people to bring the project to life.By 2023, the company had completed a $38 million Series A funding round. This achievement was backed by several venture capital firms, including Hack VC, Paceholder, Archetype, Maven 11, Robot Ventures, Figment Capital, Nomad Capital, Bankless Ventures, OKX Ventures, dao5, and Aptos Labs. The investment strongly endorses Rushi’s direction and efforts in a fast-changing digital landscape.Rushi’s approach to blockchain focused on developing a secure, modular system that allows developers to build applications that can interact across different blockchain networks. The idea was to reduce the risk of security breaches and ensure that digital assets could be managed more easily. Modular blockchain systems separate complex tasks into distinct layers that handle specific functions. These systems are more adaptable, scalable, and better suited to meet the changing needs of users.Rushi recognized the potential in a programming language developed by Meta and saw it as a foundation to build more secure and efficient blockchain tools. While others overlooked this opportunity, he embraced it to create a more secure ecosystem. His company later launched an Ethereum layer-2 network built on this technology, aiming to improve speed and safety within blockchain infrastructure. Rather than accepting vulnerabilities as a given in the industry, his work aimed to set new standards in resilience. He also introduced a cryptocurrency token tied to the company, further expanding the company’s offerings and ecosystem. Before his blockchain company, Rushi’s career path included experiences that helped sharpen his technical and entrepreneurial skills. He worked as a software engineer at Aptos Project for three months, contributing to innovative contract development for the Aptos Decentralized Exchange and cross-chain index funds. He also founded Ensemble, an AI-powered test prep tutoring platform providing high school students free educational resources. This project was integrated into the curriculum of 53 schools across the country.Rushi also gained experience as a software engineer at UnitedHealth Group, where he worked for three months. While there, he successfully migrated seven APIs to AWS cloud computing, leading to an 84% cost reduction. He also modernized the tech stack for improved scalability and regional support. As a freelance full-stack developer, he worked with Stories In the Cloud, where he rebuilt user and admin portals and transitioned outdated backend systems to more modern frameworks. His work included integrating services with AWS and updating the backend to Node.js.Rushi holds a Seal of Biliteracy in French and has earned numerous certifications from online learning platforms such as Udemy. His course history includes subjects like machine learning, blockchain development, and Python programming, reflecting his commitment to continued education and growth in the field. His accomplishments have earned him several honors, including the Ingram Scholarship at Vanderbilt University for academic excellence and community involvement. He was also a Burger King McLamore Scholar, an Elks National Foundation Semifinalist, and a Coca-Cola Scholarship Semifinalist. Rushi received recognition as a National AP Scholar and earned awards from organizations like the Young Investors Society and Diamond Challenge for his efforts in business and finance. His dedication to public service was honored with the New Jersey State Governor's Jefferson Award, which is given to individuals who make significant contributions to their communities without expecting recognition. He also competed in the Seton Hall Pirates Pitch Business Plan event, where he pitched a project to address educational inequality and placed among the top four percent of global competitors.Giving back has always been a part of Rushi’s life. He and his family have supported medical initiatives in India for over a decade, contributing to children’s hospitals and heart research. While in high school, he also volunteered with organizations like UNICEF and the Samaritan Homeless Interim Program.Born in Springfield, Illinois, Rushi enjoys basketball, travel, and the outdoors. His interests, strong sense of purpose, and early start in software development have shaped his path as a thoughtful leader in blockchain innovation.
