Mr Lau was, at the time, one of the youngest ever managing directors of a publicly traded company in Malaysia.Mr Lau has also led a group of investors to a successful take-over of the Oriented Media Group Berhad (Omedia), a publicly traded digital media company, of which he was later appointed, Executive Chairman. In 2007, Mr Lau co-founded Cellsafe Biotech Group, a regional biotechnology business group that focuses on non-controversial technologies for harvesting and cryogenic preservation of stem cells. Cellsafe has since become a leading stem cell bank network in Southeast Asia, with operations across four different countries.Mr Lau frequently supports and plays active role in entrepreneurial campaigns in colleges and universities. He is a regular judge at major business plan competitions in Singapore.Mr Lau was a scholar of a Malaysian government-controlled corporation and graduated first class honours in engineering from the University of Manchester, UK.
