In 1997, he found work with Equitable Life (Axa Advisors) and in his first year of living in the USA, won the “Rookie of the Year - No. 1 sales person in New York” and was placed 7th nationally. In 1999 he started itechglobal a fintech firm whose clients included Ameritrade where he closed $2 million in first year revenue.Post 9/11, Ishan merged itechglobal with a listed firm and returned to India. At that time, at age 32, he acquired development rights on 2.5m sf and started www.outsourcetoindia.com, an outsourcing advisory firm. In that process, he met a group of EIR’s at Warburg Pincus and joined them to Head Marketing at WNS Global Services which grew from 800 to 12,000 employees in 4 years and listed on the NYSE with a $2 billion market cap in 2006.In 2015, Ishan started investing in start-ups. Since then he has had 3 successful exits and 4 in his portfolio have raised follow on investments. He has led investments with Indian Angel Network, Mumbai Angels and Let’s Venture and CIIE at IIM-A. He is a venture partner at India’s leading provider of co-working spaces. Most recently, he has lead $2m in investment in Iwi - Women’s wellness & hygiene products, WeDoSky – drone data science firm, University Living - student marketplace and Bookeventz - venue management firm where he serves on their boards. Ishan is the 5th generation of his family to have graduated from St. Stephens College in Delhi.
