Dr. Mills' previous academic appointments included service as the Director of the Artificial Heart Program at the University of California, Irvine Medical Center and membership in the University of California, San Francisco Radiology Department. Dr. Mills received a Ph.D. in bioengineering from the University of California, Berkeley & San Francisco School of Medicine, a M.S. in electrical engineering and computer science from the University of California, Berkeley, and a B.S. in electrical engineering from the University of Colorado, Boulder.
