I have chosen to operate as a solo investor as there is no greater privilege than supporting founding teams as fully as I can. My consistent success as an investor is only possible because of them. So Ialways put the interests of our companies first. I am drawn to distinctive, original startups, and frequently invest in less obvious opportunities that require some vision. If they succeed fully, they will become enduring companies with important positions in global markets. This success will be built on accumulating advantages, technical moats, and attractive economic models and therefore ultimate self-determination. I have had the good fortune to invest early in a wide range of great companies including King.com, Houzz, The Foundry, Ubiquisys, Boxed, eDreams and QXL.com. In the last few years, I invested early in emerging platforms like Illumio, Infosum and Tray.io, “intelligent software” startups like Moogsoft and Seal Software, and some unannounced investments. In November 2017, I was honoured to be included in Forbes' first Midas List Europe. Without the adventurous entrepreneurs that I've enjoyed working with over the years, this wouldn't have been possible, and I am thankful to this very special group of people.
