He has then held several roles including Commission Member of the MCMC, making him the youngest Commission Member in the history of the country and the first time ever that any former member of staff of MCMC was appointed to the Board of MCMC, as well as the Chief Operating Officer.His notable achievements during his tenure includes a positive rating by Fitch Ratings for having the appropriately balanced regulatory environment to encourage telecoms investment, as well as the recognition given to Malaysia to be one of the few emerging economies for having the right framework for affordable broadband.Sharil graduated with a LL.B (Hons) from the University College of Wales, Aberystwyth before qualifying as a Barrister, of Gray’s Inn, United Kingdom.
