Charles Huang is a Vice President and the Chief Finance and Financial Analysis Officer of Equity Healthcare, within Blackstone’s Private Equity Operations Group.Prior to joining Blackstone in 2012, Mr. Huang worked in venture capital, focusing on health technology investing and actively supporting healthcare portfolio companies of SparkCapital.Prior to Spark Capital, while completing a dual Master’s degree program in Business and Public Administration, he helped contribute to the growth of a number of VC/PE-backed healthcare companies in the areas of strategy, operations, and clinical informatics/reporting, including Generation Health and Accelecare Wound Centers.Before graduate school, Charles was a Manager in the Strategic Financial Planning Group at Harvard Pilgrim Health Care and had also worked previously in the health consulting practice at Towers Perrin. Mr. Huang has co-authored several Harvard Business School cases and notes on healthcare innovation, payment, and policy. He's an advisor, investor, and collaborator with Blueprint Health, Startup Health, TEDMED and Luminary Labs - organizations that focus on health and wellness innovation and disruption. He's a board advisor and angel investor in health technology start-ups such as Artemis Health, Heal, and CredSimple. In addition to his M.B.A. and M.P.A. from Harvard, Mr. Huang holds a B.A. in Public Health from Johns Hopkins University. He has often served as a judge, speaker, and curator at many health innovation conferences and challenges, such as Health 2.0, TEDMED, Health Evolution Partners Summit, Harvard Business School Healthcare Conference and the Verizon Powerful Answers Challenge.
