He handled key ECM transactions in the development of the MENA region capital markets, including the first GDR in Egypt, CIB; the first funds to allow foreign investors in Saudi Arabia and Oman, and writing the first research on the MENA region capital markets and economies. He commenced UK coverage at Barings and then later started a new business at Barings when he was appointed head of all the developing markets from Portugal to Turkey and the Levant and Morocco to Egypt and all the GCC. He founded MENA Financial in 2002 as well as Signet in 2012 and he is an investor in several start-ups as well as a mentor to several companies.
