He serves as the Chairman of Nestlé Health Science S.A. He serves as Vice Chairman of L'Oreal India Pvt. Ltd. He has been the Vice Chairman of the Board of Dreyer's Grand Ice Cream Holdings Inc., since June 26, 2003. He serves as Vice Chairman of Winterthur (Switzerland). He served as Vice Chairman of Alcon, Inc. He also served as Vice-Chairman of AXA Leben AG (formerly, Winterthur Life Insurance Company) and AXA Versicherungen AG (formerly, Winterthur Group). He serves as a Member of Foundation Board at World Economic Forum. He serves as a Director of L'Oreal USA, Inc. He served as a Director at Alcon Inc. from 2002 to May 2, 2006 and Lead Independent Director of Credit Suisse Group from March 2001 to 2002. He served as a Director of Winterthur Swiss Insurance. He serves as Member of ERT (European Round Table of Industrialists), the Bretton Woods Committee's International Council, as well as of the International Association for the Promotion and Protection of Private Foreign Investments (APPI) and Avenir Suisse. He graduated from the University of World Trade in Vienna with a Degree in Economics.
