Morten Lund

Angel Investor & VentureBuilder @ Linkfire

Copenhagen, Denmark

Morten Lund is a serial entrepreneur based in Copenhagen, Denmark. He has founded or co-invested in more than 100 high-tech startups in the last 15 years. These include Skype, ZYB, Polar Rose (facial recognition), Bullguard, Tradeshift, AirHelp and itembase. Lund was declared bankrupt in January 2009 from the aftermath of his stalled freenewspaper venture Nyhedsavisen. He announced he was out of bankruptcy in April 2010 and started to rebuild. He has spoken multiple times on failing. With his experiences of never having to look at price tags to riding the subway to events and having his possessions taken away. Since bankruptcy, Lund has had a particular interest in Financial Tech companies. His most notable venture being Tradeshift and later Capital Aid. After seeing first hand the effects of the economic downturn, Lund sees finance as an industry ripe for disruption. Tradeshift's most recent round raised $75 million from Scentan Ventures in February 2014. Lund stays composed and grounded to his startup roots. He works tirelessly on the onlyXO network of companies. His portfolio has an interesting blend of finance, consumer protection, commerce and social companies. The exciting fundXO venture which aims to bring finance to the startup ecosystem is launching soon.Lund creates a synergy amongst his portfolio with partnerships appearing between companies such as Tradeshift and Capital Aid. Some of the onlyXO companies came into existence through solving a particular pain point Lund felt as an investor. pitchXO is one of these companies which gave Lund the answer to what happens to his PDF documents after he sends them through email.

About Linkfire

VC Fund · Copenhagen, Denmark

We’re a passionate team of music techies on a mission to make music consumption easier for fans, labels and artists. The music industry is transforming constantly, the market is fragmented and split across many different platforms and services. Physical sales are going down. Streaming is gaining momentum. The transformation will continue and theyears to come will be very interesting. We want to contribute to the transformation by bringing music and fans closer. Not inside music services, but outside where fans and artists engage. Our approach is to index digital music across music services and provide smart links that route fans directly to the music regardless of their location or which player or platform they use. It’s complex. We make it simple.
