Leto is set to play legendary villain, The Joker, in the upcoming supervillain film Suicide Squad (2016). Leto was honored with a Gotham Independent Film Award and Toronto International Film Festival's People's Choice Award for his debut documentary feature, Artifact. Mr. Leto directed Artifact under the pseudonym Bartholomew Cubbins, the same alias under which he directs the award winning music videos for the multi-platinum-selling rock band, Thirty Seconds to Mars. Leto is the singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist for the band, which has released four albums, including the recent Love Lust Faith + Dreams (2013). Notorious for their relentless touring, they have circled the globe playing sold-out arenas since 1998 and in support of the album This Is War, they played over 300 shows in nearly 60 countries on six continents to 3 million people, thereby breaking the Guinness World Record for the longest-ever concert tour by a rock band.Thirty Seconds to Mars has sold over ten million albums worldwide and their music videos have received more than a billion views on YouTube. The group has received numerous awards worldwide, including over a dozen MTV Awards; a Billboard Music Award; and honors from NME, Kerrang!, and Fuse. They were nominated for three 2013 MTV VMAs, including best rock video, which they won.Additionally he is deeply entrenched in tech as both an investor and founder. Leto has made over fifty tech investments (Uber, Nest, Airbnb, Stripe, Slack, Zenefits) and serves as advisor for several start-ups. He is the founder of Adventures In Wonderland, The Hive, VyRT, and A Sharp Knife.
