He was responsible for the restructuring of IFC’s financial sector investments in Argentina, building IFC’s Financial Sector business in Latin America, Caribbean, and Sub-Saharan Africa regions, and most recently, leading the rapid expansion of IFC’s Financial Sector investments globally.As a Global Director for Financial Markets, the position James Scriven held from 2007 until 2014, he oversaw the development of a robust, innovative, and diversified program in microfinance, SME banking, housing, insurance, and private equity funds that have delivered strong development and financial returns for IFC’s financial markets investments.Prior to joining IFC, James Scriven was the Chief Financial Officer of Banco Hipotecario S.A., one of the largest banks in Argentina, and the Chief Executive Officer of BACS, a subsidiary secondary mortgage bank of the same financial group.He holds a Master’s degree in Finance from Universidad del CEMA in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
