Gareth Dando is a founding Managing Director of Southern Cross Venture Partners. Previously he was CEO of Uniseed, a special purpose venture capital fund dedicated to investment in technology from three of Australia?s leading universities, which he co-founded and built over 6 years. He had primary responsibility for many of its investmentsincluding Wedgetail/Vintela, Fultec Semiconductor, Cryptopharma, and Xerocoat.Prior to founding Uniseed, Gareth spent ten years as a strategy consultant in the UK, France and Australia with two major international firms. In London and Paris he was a consultant with OC&C Strategy Consultants, where his assignments covered a wide range of industry sectors including consumer goods, telecommunications, chemicals, transportation, pharmaceuticals, consumer goods, chemicals, transportation and engineering. In Australia he helped to found the Melbourne office of LEK Consulting, and as a Senior Manager specialised in financial issues, including valuation and shareholder value analysis. His assignments covered the IT/telecommunications, resources, consumer goods, IT/telecommunications and infrastructure sectors. Gareth began his career as an IT systems consultant with Andersen Consulting (now Accenture).Gareth began his career as an IT systems consultant with Andersen Consulting (now Accenture). He holds an MBA from INSEAD, an MA in Physics from Oxford University, and a BSc (Hons) in Mathematics from the University of Melbourne.
