Dan Baty is a co-founder of Columbia Pacific Advisors and Columbia Pacific Management, Inc. Previously, Dan was the founder of Emeritus Corporation, one of the largest and most experienced operators of freestanding assisted living communities located throughout the United States, which merged with Brookdale Senior Living Inc. in 2014. He had servedas Chairman of Emeritus since its inception in 1993. Dan also previously served as the Chairman of Holiday Retirement Corporation, the largest operator of retirement centers in the US and Canada, from 1987 to its sale in 2007 to Fortress Investment Group for more than $6 billion. Dan has been successfully investing in and developing private companies for over 40 years. Dan stepped away from day-to-day operational responsibilities at Columbia Pacific Advisors in May 2021.
