Fall is a big issue. Globally, there are 600,000 deaths & 37 million injuries every year. We aim to reduce the number and impact of falls in hospitals/elderly homes by developing an AI camera monitoring system to notify caregivers automatically when high fall-risk patients getting out of bed alone without calling for assistance, missingfrom bed at night (might have fallen somewhere), restlessness or when fall occurs. Every month, we will generate a report to help the management to improve their nursing care quality over time.In the first 3 years, we mainly target hospitals and elderly care centers. We'll start with Singapore and Malaysia nursing homes. We adopt hardware and software as a service model, where we charge a zero upfront cost plus a recurring software licensing fee for each bed that we monitor for the hospital/elderly home.Serious aging population in Singapore, Hong Kong, Korea and Japan creates lucrative business opportunity for us. With 7.8 million hospital/elderly home beds in East Asia, our serviceable available market is US$8.52 billion, considering averagely US$3 profit / bed / day.We believe video analytics has a great, great potential in the healthcare space. In the future, not only video analytics can be used to prevent falls precisely, it can also be used to discover diseases from our everyday behavior, or to be linked up with hospital database and doctors for treatment recommendations. We also see a potential collaboration with wearable that tracks inner conditions such as heart rate & blood pressure to predict & prevent fall, or to detect deterioration of patients. Our company vision is to use AI to help the elderly people to stay independently.Highlights: - Great team: 3 AI researchers, 1 software, 1 hardware, 1 sales&marketing - Backed by Zeroth AI (HK) & Sparklab (Korea) accelerators - APICTA '17 winner - Advised by two serial entrepreneurs and two medical doctors - 4 pilot partners: making our AI almost 100% accurate soon | $100K / Non-equity Assistance / May 08, 2024 | |
