Some of his transactions include advising Old Mutual on the sale of its Nordic business to Skandia Liv, Towergate on its equity and debt recapitalisation, HSBC on the sale of its insurance broking business to MMC, Aon on its acquisition of Benfield, Admiral and Hargreaves Lansdown on their IPOs on the London Stock Exchange, Prudential on its successful bid defence following an approach by Aviva, Prudential on the sale of its banking subsidiary Egg to Citigroup, Barclays on the sale of Barclays Life to Swiss Re and Irish Permanent on its merger with Irish Life.He has a degree in economics and accounting from Bristol University. He is a Vice President of Save the Children (UK), a member of the Advisory Council of Impetus Trust, a venture philanthropy charity, and a Senior Visiting Fellow of Cass Business School.
