He authored the book “The Longest Cast: The Fly-Fishing Journey of a Lifetime” and donated the book’s royalties to the International Game Fishing Association (IGFA) for the preservation of endangered fishing sanctuaries. He serves on Vanderbilt University’s board of trust and is a member of the Rotary Club of Atlanta. Taylor received a bachelor's degree in science with a focus on human and organizational development from Vanderbilt University.
