Prior to joining Brait in 1995, he worked for FirstCorp Capital Investors (the predecessor to Ethos Private Equity) doing management and leveraged buyout transactions and managing a portfolio of investee companies. Walter has served as a Non-Executive Director on the boards of numerous private equity sponsor-owned businesses, including: Astrapak, Bayport, RTT, and Shoe City.Walter received a B.Com and CTA from the University of Cape Town and qualified as a chartered accountant whilst at KPMG.
