In June, 1997 he was appointed as the First Deputy Chief of Vneshekonombank, Member of the Board of Directors of Vneshekonombank.In June, 2002, he came to Vneshtorgbank, in the post of Deputy Chairman of the Board.On May 27, 2004, he was appointed as the Chairman of the Board of Vneshekonombank for a term of three years.On June, 14, 2006, he was elected as the Chairman of the Board of the Interbank Association (IBA) of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SOC) for a term of one year.On May 30, 2007, he was appointed as the Chairman of the Board of Vneshekonombank.On June 18, 2007, he became Head of the State Corporation “Bank for Development and Foreign Economic Affairs" (Vneshekonombank).On June 19, 2007, he joined the Supervisory Board of Vneshekonombank.
