Tristen Langley is a Director at Amalfi Capital, a technology investment fund. Langley sourced and led the due diligence for Southern Cross’ investment in virtualizedstorage, EvoStor which became the technology engine for Virsto, which sold to VMWare in February 2013.Langley serves on the Board of Directors of Precise Light Surgical, a specialized laser and medical device company; Ipsy, a leading ecommerce company; SBA Materials, a semiconductor materials company. She also serves on the Investment Committee of Thrive Foundation, focused on inspiring and helping youth, founded by Bob and Dottie King.Previously, Langley was an Analyst with Draper Fisher Jurvetson (DFJ), a venture capital firm with $5BN in assets under management. Langley initiated the firm’s investment in and led the due diligence for Skype Technologies, which sold to eBay for $4.1 billion. While at DFJ she served as a Board observer at Xfire, which sold to Viacom for $102M. Langley joined Skype as one of the earliest team members on the ground in North America launching business development and marketing activities. She also held operational roles with RenRen in China and Samsung Semiconductor in California. Prior to DFJ, Tristen was a Senior Associate with the Australian technology venture capital firm, Allen & Buckeridge (A&B). At A&B she led the firm's investment in the CRC-spinout Wedgetail Communications (sold to Quest Software for US$57M), a security software firm. She joined Wedgetail as Manager, Operations & Planning, where she was engaged in sales, IP management and budget planning.Tristen Langley holds an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. She completed her graduate studies in software engineering at the Fraunhofer IESE, Germany. She earned a bachelor of science (Honours) from the University of NSW and was the recipient of the University Medal.
