In 1997, Tom sold U-Gene Research, a company he spun-out of the University of Utrecht, to Kendle, a leading US clinical research organization. Tom started his career at Interpharm, one of the largest pharmaceutical wholesalers in the Netherlands. He was trained as a pharmacist at the University of Utrecht.
