Other positions included serving on the Board of Directors and Professional Standards Committee of the Indianapolis Medical Society, President of Alpha Omega Alpha, the national medical honorary, receiving the Indiana University School of Medicine Dean’s Award in 1975 and the Otis Bowen Distinguished Leadership Award in 2002 and 2003, and serving as President of the Indiana University School of Medicine’s Deans Council from 2004 to 2007.
