Stephen Gray founded McLeod USA in 1992 and oversaw its primary business units consisting of its CLEC (competitive local exchange carrier), ILEC (incumbent local exchange carrier), Directory Publishing and Cable/Telephony divisions and also led development of its overall strategy and merger/acquisition efforts. He served as a Director of McLeodUSA, LLC from 1993 to December 31, 2004. He served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of PAETEC Holding Corp. Stephen Gray served as a Vice President of Business Services of MCI from August 1990 to September 1992, where he was responsible for its local access strategy and for marketing and sales support of the Business Markets division. From February 1988 to August 1990, Stephen Gray served as a Senior Vice President of National Accounts and Carrier Services for Telecom USA, where his responsibilities included marketing, customer service and sales support.
