In addition, it offers government services, which include satellite-based communications solutions to civilian and defense agencies; satellite-based telecommunications, such as bandwidth, infrastructures, and networking services to government agencies, public administrations, and their contractors; and various services for government agencies and contractors. Further, the company provides mobile broadband services, including satellite Internet, streaming, multicast file delivery, and broadband interactive communication solutions. As of December 31, 2008, it operated a fleet of 40 satellites in 26 orbital positions. SES S.A. was formerly known as SES GLOBAL S.A. and changed its name to SES S.A. in December 2006. The company was founded in 1985 and is headquartered in Luxembourg, Luxembourg.
