Mr. Furman was shareholder, comptroller and board member of Banco Internacional - an institution dedicated to SME financing in Chile. In 2007, Banco Internacional was acquired by a respected group of Chilean businessmen.Mr. Furman was a founding partner and board member of Salmones yAlimentos Mainstream S.A., a pioneer in the salmon industry in Chile. He participated actively in the development of the Company’s production units. The Company went public in 1993, and eventually the family's control was sold to Cultor, a Finnish group, in 1995.Previously, Mr. Furman spent forteen years as the commercial manager of Compañia Productora Nacional de Aceites (Coprona S.A.), a major local producer of edible oils and margarine. Coprona –controlled by the Furman family- was sold to Unilever in 1989.Mr. Furman has forteen years of experience in the real estate sector, undertaking projects in both Chile and Argentina. He was a board member of Fondo Proa (venture capital) for eight years and board member of Fondo Toesca (real estate development) for five years, both administered by Moneda Asset Management.Sergio Furman Sihman holds a B.A. from University of Southern California, USC.
