From idea to international recognition In 1990, the SBA with Lithuania started its first steps in the free market economy. A production and commercial company established by a young entrepreneur had limited financial resources and small technological capabilities, but lacked creativity, business ideas and determination.The desire to create acompetitive Lithuanian product and go to international markets has led to investing in furniture and clothing companies - Klaipėdos Baldai, Šilutės Baldai, Kauno Baldai, Utenos trikotažas. Although the Lithuanian industry faced enormous difficulties at the time, investment in new production facilities and human resources enabled SBA companies to gain a competitive advantage.1996 The SBA has started cooperation with the Swedish concern Ikea, which continues to this day. 1997 Klaipėdos Baldai became the first quality management system implemented by the furniture company in accordance with the international ISO 9001 standard. Over the years, ISO 9001 and environmental management system ISO 14001 standards have been implemented in all SBA manufacturing companies.Within 10 years the group's companies have become market leaders, and SBA's activity has been evaluated by the Baltic Business Award's main award for the Baltic Business Convention.
