Sasa Skrgic is a startup investor at Erste Group. Sasa has 20 years of experience in card business, working in Erste and Unicredit.From the beginning of his work in card business, Sasa has been responsible for key and strategic projects. Moving to Erste in 2009, his task was to strategically position card business on Croatian market. As a result of that, Erste launched innovative and uniquepayment products and implemented “at that moment” controversial Spend analyzer. Back in 2011, his team launched the first mass contactless migration in Croatia strongly supported with promotional campaign. Under his leadership and supervision, Erste won public tender published by City of Rijeka for “smart city integration”. This was the first integration of payments in public sector in Croatia incorporating varies municipality services.In 2012, he started to work in Erste Holding Vienna responsible for group card business development. He put new cooperation model with MasterCard and VISA which resulted with varies local initiatives in innovations, portfolio optimization, promotional campaigns etc.A great achievement in his work is full implementation of new business and operational model in POS / ecomm acquiring which resulted with joint venture with Global Payments and LaCaixa. Company was established in june 2016 and takes care for acquiring operations in Czech republic, Slovakia and Romania.In coordination with stakeholders (taking leading role from retail side), Erste payment strategy has been recently approved. At this moment he works on implementation new payment strategy in 7 Erste countries.Sasa is member of MasterCard European Payments Advisory Committee, member of Erste Card Club Supervisory board and Group contact to Global Payments.
