As the 1stemployee in a Japanese startup, I had to learn how to support our founders starting from zero, while bootstrapping. The results? We managed to pivot our business model a few times, and have always been working on new growing challenges ahead. My current role requires engaging with IoT startup founders to understand their main issues and how to consider new services that add real value to hardware startups, and at the same time nurturing business connections within our hardware community. We launched our 1st prototyping fund in 2016 and invest in hardware startups based in the US & Japan. For the next fund, our goal is to expand our activities towards IIoT in the most promising startup hubs.
