Rande elevated the concept of the “hotel bar” by creating The Whiskey Bar’s upscale lounges, including The Whiskey, Whiskey Blue, Whiskey Park, The Penthouse, Midnight Rose, Stone Rose and SkyBar Los Angeles. Rande opened The Whiskey on Ocean Drive in South Beach in 1991 and is credited with being the original pioneer of South Beach nightlife. Rande went on to open 40 lounges, bars, restaurants and clubs in major cities including New York, Los Angeles, Miami, Las Vegas, Boston, Chicago, Madrid and Mexico City. His extraordinary success made his companies the preferred partner for Starwood Hotels, W Hotels, Sofitel, Strategic Hotel Group and Sol Melia.Rande has been featured on television and in magazines and newspapers including The New York Times, Wall Street journal, Bloomberg, Business Insider, GQ, Architectural Digest, Vanity Fair, MSNBC, and CNN among others.Rande’s philanthropic involvement includes the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, Boys & Girls Clubs, American Children’s Hospital and more.He currently resides with his wife, Cindy Crawford, and two children, Kaia and Presley Gerber, in Malibu, California.
