McWhorter is also a founding member of the Nashville Health Care Council.McWhorter attended The University of Tennessee, Knoxville, pre-pharmacy 1951-52, and earned his B.S. degree in pharmacy in 1955 from Samford University in Birmingham, AL.He currently serves on the Advisory Board of the McWhorter School of Pharmacy as well as the Board of Overseers at Samford University. He is a member of the Board of Trustees of Belmont University, as well as Samford University’s Board of Overseers, having served as its inaugural Chairman.
