Noramay Cadena is a nationally recognized leader for her technical contributions in the corporate sector as well as for her work in the community. She spent over 12 years working across multiple business units at The Boeing Company and is leading the Latinas in STEM Foundation, an organization she co-founded in 2013, as the Executive Director. AtBoeing, Noramay led process improvement strategies across large development programs to help the company break the cost curve associated with bringing large programs to market. As an Integrated Product Team (IPT) Leader in El Segundo, CA, Noramay led a cross-functional team through the assembly, integration and test of a commercial satellite program and managed a multi-million dollar budget and a multi-year schedule.Noramay holds an MBA, a Master’s in Engineering Systems and a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering – all from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). She is also a member of The Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE), the National Society of Hispanic MBAs (NSHMBA) and the Society of Women Engineers (SWE). Over the last several years, Noramay has been a featured speaker in many platforms across the country – her talks and recognitions cover technical achievement, leadership, and overcoming obstacles. In 2015, she was recognized for technical leadership by the Society of Women Engineers via a national award. In 2014, she was recognized for technical and community leadership via an IEEE Women in Engineering Magazine article and was named one of the top 20 Latinos in Technology by CNET. That same year, she was also a TEDx speaker in Boyle Heights, CA and a panelist during the World Summit on Innovation & Entrepreneurship in New York.At Make in LA, Noramay focuses on developing principled leaders with solid product and business foundations and on developing partnerships that support Los Angeles’ entrepreneurship ecosystem.
