Mr. Marks has been an Executive Chairman of Smith New Court since January 1995. He served as the Chairman of the London Investment Banking Association from June 1998 to February 2002. He served as the Chairman at Merrill Lynch Investment Managers and International Private Client and a Vice Chairman of Merrill Lynch International at Merrill Lynch and Co, Inc. He has been Non-Executive Director of Old Mutual PLC since February 1, 2004 and RIT Capital Partners plc since September 1, 2004 and has been its Senior Independent Director since July 22, 2010. Mr. Marks served as a Director of Smith Bros since 1975. He served as a Director of Cenkos Securities Ltd. He served as a Non-Executive Director of London Stock Exchange PLC from July 1994 to July 2004. Mr. Marks served as a Member of NASD's International Markets Advisory Board since 1991. He was awarded a CBE in January 1999 for services to Britain's financial services industry. Mr. Marks attended St. Paul's School in London.
