Mark Castleman is a Sloan Fellow MBA ('22) candidate attending MIT's Sloan School of Business in Cambridge, Ma. Mark is an LP in three startup venture funds (Silicon Valley and Austin, Texas) and is a Fund Advisor and Venture Partner to MATR Ventures a Toronto-based venture fund investing in Underestimated founders. Mark is also a VenturePartner and Limited Partner at Capital Factory, the most active accelerator and startup fund in the central US, located in Austin, Texas.Previously Mark served as Partner and Operating Partner for Mistletoe, Inc., a $500million global family office, impact investment fund, founded by Taizo Son, supporting founders exploring human society impact ideas in education, energy, food production, transportation, health and finance.In association with his activities in Mistletoe, Mark is also an advisor to Deepcore, Softbank's early-stage AI fund. Some of Mark's investments and advisory/board roles include Kea.cloud (AI), Mentally Fit (HealthTech), Oura Ring, Damon Motors, Sonatus.ai, Klarna, TwentyBn (M12 Ventures), CerebriAI, Enhance Experience (AR/VR), and Texas Venture Labs. Other executive roles include VP of Corporate Strategy at Avaya and EIR at Bell Labs/Nokia, where he founded Future X Labs, which continues to operate as Nokia's creative innovation program. Previously, Mark founded four startups, raised more than $100million in VC capital, and successfully exited two companies to private and public acquirers. Residing in the San Francisco Bay Area, Mark was formerly a long-time resident of Austin, Texas where he graduated from the University of Texas, Austin, with a BS in Architectural Studies.
