Graduated from the Faculty of Mechanical and Power Engineering at the Wrocław University of Technology (MSc. Eng. – specialty: refrigeration).He has stayed with the university after graduation. He was an Assistant at the Institute of Thermal Engineering and Fluid Mechanics, and subsequently Assistant Professor. Hereceived his PhD hab. in 1999, and the tile of Professor Extraordinarius in 2002. In 2009 he became Full Professor of Technical Sciences.At the Wrocław University of Technology, he has served as, among others, Vice-Dean for Science and International Co-operation at the Faculty of Mechanical and Power Engineering (2002-05), Dean of that Faculty (2005-12), Director of the Institute of Aviation and Process Engineering and of Power Engineering Machines (2012-14). Since 2014 Professor Chorowski has been Head of the Department of Cryogenic, Aviation and Process Engineering.Since 1998 he has collaborated with CERN, including as a Member of Personnel, while in 1996-1997 he was Senior Scientific Associate there. In 2007, Professor Chorowski was Plenipotentiary of the Minister of Science and Higher Education for CERN research infrastructure.Involved in the work related to the establishment of the Wrocław Technology Park (WPT SA) from its inception and was its President in 2002-11.A valued expert, Professor Chorowski is a member of, among others: NCBR Steering Committee, the National Development Council under the President of the Republic of Poland, the Executive Committee of Fusion for Energy (F4E) and of CERN Finance Committee. Member of advisory teams at the Ministry of Science and Higher Education (for the Roadmap and for Strategic R&D Programmes), as well as of editorial committees of the Indian Journal of Cryogenics and the Journal of Power Engineering.In 2009-2015 Professor Chorowski led more than 20 national and European research projects. He is the author or co-author of 171 publications, 5 patents and 55 unpublished works.

About National Center for Research and Development
The National Centre for Research and Development is the implementing agency of the Minister of Science and Higher Education. It was appointed in the summer 2007 as an entity in charge of the performance of the tasks within the area of national science, science and technology and innovation policies. When if was founded, it was the first entity ofthis type, created as the platform of an effective dialogue between the scientific and business communities.Currently, it operates under the Act on National Centre for Research and Development dated 30 April 2010 (Journal of Laws from 2010, No. 96 item 616). The science reform adopted in the autumn 2010 gave the Centre more freedom to manage its financial assets, within the scope of a strategic research programme.In addition, the National Centre for Research and Development extended its activity with new initiatives and possibilities on 1 September 2011. Assigned by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education the function of the Mediation Institution in three operational programmes: Human Capital, Innovative Economy and Infrastructure and Environment, the Centre became one of the greatest innovation centres in Poland. The activity of the Centre is funded by the national treasury and the European Union.
