Mr. Cox oversaw deal selection, underwriting and portfolio management.Mr. Cox joined SunTrust in 2010 as Team Leader in the Investment Bank’s Acquisition Finance group where he covered the Financial Services and Technology verticals and was responsible for underwriting and structuring transactions involving over 150 companies and $10 billion of SunTrust hold positions.Prior to SunTrust, Mr. Cox was at Hercules Technology Growth Capital (NYSE: HTGC) where he expanded Hercules’ middle market leveraged lending practice and focused on originating and underwriting sponsor-backed healthcare transactions.Mr. Cox was also at NewStar Financial (NASDAQ: NEWS) where he was a founding member of their Healthcare lending vertical and underwrote over $400 million of healthcare loans. Prior to NewStar, Mr. Cox began his lending career in Acquisition Finance at FleetBoston Financial (now NYSE: BAC) in Boston.
