After serving as a prosecutor in the Sapporo High Public Prosecutors Office from 2008 until he retired in 2009, he joined the Dai-ichi Tokyo Bar Association and became a professor of law at the Tokai University Law School - a position he still holds. He is also an attorney at law at Higashimachi LPC.
