Jun Wu is a funding round investor at Cenova in Shanghai focused on Medical and Medical Device. Dr. Wu has extensive experience combining venture capital investment, entrepreneurial start-up, management of private and public companies, and biomedical research. Before founding Cenova Ventures, Dr. Wu co-founded Shanghai Genomics in 2001 which grew to become one of the most successful Chinese biopharmaceutical companies established byreturnees. During his tenure with the company, he designed and implemented an innovative and successful strategy and business model for development in China. Under his leadership, his team successfully developed a 'blockbuster' anti-fibrotic drug from its pre-clinical stage to the final market approval. The team also built a rich product pipeline by achieving marketing approvals of one Class III medical device and a number of new drug IND approvals in China. In addition, Dr. Wu was instrumental in orchestrating and completing a successful IPO of the company in Tokyo Stock Exchange in 2007. Prior to Cenova Ventures, he served as the CEO of Shanghai Genomics.
