From the very beginning, back in 2000, Joaquim has put his vast experience at the service of many of our global portfolio companies, both from a technical standpoint – drawing on his electrical engineering background and work as a teacher at IST (Lisbon) and as a researcher at INESC (a reference Portuguese research institute) – and from a management standpoint – putting to use his seasoned business skills and sense, built on his curriculum at INSEAD and his long experience developing businesses in the Banco Espírito Santo Group. A reference in the Venture Capital community, as CEO of Espírito Santo Ventures, Joaquim challenges the strategy and oversees the globality of our entire portfolio while remaining personally involved in many of the companies we invest in, and his door is always open to advise the team on all of them.
