Jean–René Fourtou has received many awards, such as the International Leadership Award from the United States Council for International Business in 2004, and was decorated as Officer of the Legion of Honour (2008), Commander of the National Order of Merit, Commander of the Order of Ouissam Alaouite (Morocco, January 2005) and Commander of the Order of Ouissam al Moukafaa al Watanya (Morocco, July 2005). Born in Libourne (Gironde, France) on 20 June 1939, Jean-René is a Graduate of the École Polytechnique.
