Hong-Jiang Zhang is a startup investor at Source Code Capital in Beijing. And he is also CEO of Kingsoft Cloud, a strategic subsidiary company specializing in cloud storage and computing. Before he joined Kingsoft in October 2011, he was the Chief Technology Officer for MicrosoftAsia-Pacific Research and Development Group and the founding Managing Director of the Microsoft Advanced Technology Center. As a Fellow of IEEE and ACM, Dr. Zhang is well-known in the research community for his leadership in media computing and his pioneering work in video and image content analysis and retrieval. He was the recipient of the 2010 IEEE Computer Society Technical Achievement Award, 2012 ACM SIGMM Outstanding Technical Achievement Award, and the winner of 2008 “Asian-American Engineer of the Year” award. He has authored 4 books, over 400 scientific papers and holds over 100 US patents; and he is among the highest cited researchers in computer science (h-index).
