During Mr. Markl’s tenure at the Company, Zalora achieved more than USD 230 million net sales within its first 4 years. Mr. Markl was also responsible for launching Zalora’s private label, which was solely sold online and achieved more than USD 60 million net-sales per annum. Previously, Mr. Markl spent close to a decade at McKinsey & Company, based both Germany and Singapore. While at McKinsey, he advised clients in the high-tech and private-equity sector across multiple countries, including Australia, Indonesia, India, Malaysia and The Philippines. Mr. Markl was a core member of McKinsey’s Corporate Finance & Strategy practice and a key contributing author of the 5th edition of McKinsey’s published Valuation book. Mr. Markl received his MBA in Economics with a major in Finance from the University Nuremburg, Germany.
