In the period after World War II, the group built a significant business in international shipping. In addition to investing in conventional tank and bulk shipping, it was also focused on developing niche productssuch as buoyancy loaders and housing and service platforms. The business comprised at most an advanced fleet of approx. 20 units.In the period 1997 to 2003, the group implemented a strategic change process in which the business focused mainly on three business areas: financial investments, property, and international shipping.Real estate is currently run through the wholly owned subsidiary AVANTOR AS. The shipping / offshore business is concentrated on strategic ownership in Shearwater Geoservices Holding AS. The Group's financial investments are concentrated in quality companies with satisfactory earnings and moderate debt.
