In January 1979, he formed a new Stockbroking company, G. K. Goh Securities (Pte), the forerunner of the present Group. He has been the Executive Chairman of GK Goh Holdings Ltd. since March 28, 1990. He has been the Non-Executive Chairman of Boardroom Ltd. since November 18, 2004. He serves as the Chairman of Federal Iron Works Sdn Bhd. He has been a Director of GK Goh Holdings Ltd. since March 28, 1990 and Non-Executive Director of Boardroom Ltd. since November 18, 2004. He serves as a Non-Executive Director of Lam Soon (M) Bhd. He also sits on the National Heritage Board and Group's major operating subsidiaries. Mr. Goh has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Colorado.

Following its listing in 1990, the group grew to become one of the most significant non-bank securities companies in Southeast Asia. In 2005, the securities businesses were entirely sold. A part of the cash proceeds was returned toshareholders, while the balance was redeployed towards other investments. Group net assets amounted to S$313 million at the end of 2010.
