He founded Verlinvest in 1995, a family diversification vehicle and is his Managing Director. Verlinvest is a private holding company with investments in branded consumer goods, digital and care companies in Europe and The USA, where it holds minority or majoritypositions. Between 1991 and 2004, he was member of the Board of Directors of Interbrew (now AB-Inbev). From 1993 to June 2000, he was also member of the Board of Directors of Spadel (Belgium). Prior to these industrial assignments, he had an investment banking career in London and New York. From 1985 until 1993, he was at Lehman Brothers in New York and London as an Executive Director; and between 1981 and 1985 at S.G.Warburg&Co. Ltd in London where he held the position of Manager in the International Division. Mr de Mevius also serves on the boards various holding companies and not for profit organisations, mainly in the arts. He holds a BA degree in economics from the University of Louvain-la-Neuve (Belgium).
