He is also a director of The Chubb Corporation, where he began serving in 1996, and General Electric Company, where he began serving in 1997. James has been a director of a number of other public companies, including Phase Forward Incorporated from 2003 to 2009, and Microsoft Corporation from 2001 to 2009. He has also served on the audit committees of several public companies.
