Throughout his career, Dr. Tan has assumed different positions, roles and responsibilities - such as system developer, territory sales manager, application solutions architect and project director in highly complex billion dollar projects for government and enterprise customers alike. These involved large teams of specialists, high-tech solution partners and customer management. From his experience in start-up businesses to large international companies, he is passionate about entrepreneurship and advises several small and medium enterprises, companies and businesses. Dr. Tan earned a professional degree from the British Computer Society. He also holds a Doctor of Business Administration from the California Intercontinental University and a Master of Science with Distinction (First Class Honours) from Middlesex University. Dr. Tan has held various leadership positions, including Chairman of Entrepreneurship of the Singapore Polytechnic Graduates Guild Executive committee and Chairman of the Focus IT Group of the Singapore Polytechnic Alumni Network. He has lectured for Bradford University (U.K.), the Management Development Institute of Singapore and other Institutions. He is a Senior Certified Information Technology Project Manager of the Singapore Computer Society, a Project Management Professional of the Project Management Institute of U.S., holds a Masters Certificate in Project Management from the George Washington University and is an Honorary Member of the Singapore Computer Society Infocomm Registry. Dr. Tan is fluent in English and Malay.
